Lake Umuzi Waterfront is proud supporters of #TheVoice star – PJ Pretorius. The 26-year-old from Secunda is currently in the Top 7 of The Voice SA 2017.
We had the opportunity to ask PJ some questions regarding his early career as one of South Africa’s favourite musicians. So, to all PJ’s fans, here is what he had to say –
What was your inspiration to start your career?
I went on a youth camp at Eksderde, Pretoria in 2006 and after that I just really started getting a deep passion for music.
What is your biggest accomplishment in your career?
I would have to say getting to perform in front of over 1 million viewers on live television and already getting so far in the competition on The Voice SA.
Name one or two things you currently do during training that you believe are keys to your success?
1. Having a positive mind set and never comparing yourself.
2. Putting in all the hours and more when it comes to rehearsing (vocal training).
What would be your ultimate achievement?
Being able to perform all over the world, sing and write songs that lives in my heart and to see my songs come to life in other people’s hearts when they hear it. After all that is what music must do. It must move and change us.
What was the best advice you were ever given?
Be true and stay true to who you are and who God made you to be.
Do you have a saying or motto that you live your life by?
Be the best you there can be.
PJ makes it perfectly clear – whatever you do believe in yourself, work hard and you will achieve whatever your heart desires.
PJ thank you for your time and answering questions. To see more of PJ and his music, you can tune in on M-Net, The Voice on Sundays at 05:30pm.
