South African’s Dan Patlansky is regarded as one of the top blues guitarists in the world – regularly making it on to the ‘best of blues guitarists’ list compiled by prestigious publications.
He has featured on the cover of Britain’s, The Blues Magazine, is beyond famous in Europe and the US Critics abroad are raving about him being one of the top blues guitarists.
So why so little recognition in SA?
Patlansky told Robyn Cohen, Cape Times (March 16, 2018), that he has a great fan base in SA and he always loves playing at home. “My genre is a small one back home. And in all fairness, I’ve never submitted an album to the SAMAS, etc., It doesn’t really concern me at all – as long as people keep coming to the shows.”
Patlansky just returned from a very successful European tour launching his new album “Perfection Kills”. Six shows sold out in Germany and UK!
